No subgenre preferences (HR/CR/Sci-fi/Fantasy/PNR are all fine. It is okay if the initial meeting between MCs was as children, or before the criminal aspect begins, but I want the romance to start after.

Maybe it’s known because the criminal MC is “caught in the act,” maybe they have a well known reputation, maybe they have some other obvious affiliation, maybe they’re just open about it… you get the point. I don’t want the criminality of the “bad” MC to be a big reveal later, after the relationship is well established. I want to see them struggling with/choosing/being forced to choose the criminal MC despite their behaviour and going into the romance “eyes wide open.” The important part of my request is that I want the uninvolved MC to be aware of the “badness” from the start (or close to) of their relationship. I’m looking for books with one (or more) criminal MC and one MC who is not involved in any criminal activity, culture or family.
